I mean - we're careful and realistic about snakes, I know how to behave outside, and I have no expectations that there's not going to be snakes out there in the garden. But bloody hell, just, it wriggled into the house, I can't even. I don't think there's a way we could have kept our pets safer - they have no outside access, there's not much else you can do. We're so lucky it was a tiger snake and not a brown snake - apparently the venom is easier on the little furry ones sometimes. It gave him a chance, anyway.
