I hope you enjoy his work. I started reading him in the 1990s and his fundamental work in building a cohesive philosophy of biology was a big inspiration for me, even though I left biology as a degree and completed in statistics.

But, yes. I know a lot of people prefer Stephen Jay Gould for evolutionary discourse because of his colloquial style of writing, but I fell immediately for Ernst Mayr.
