This helped me a lot in early 2017 when Trump had just been elected, and I am hoping we can get the same feeling going again, after the UK election was such a shock.

Connections are important when it feels like the world is getting darker. Fandom is a huge and strong network of people. We don't always get along, but we're stronger together.

Make new friends, reconnect with those who have drifted, enlarge your circle, and know you are not alone.

If you've seen me around, it's probably because: I've been in online fandom since the late 1990s. I ebb and flow, sometimes real life is busy and I don't have time or energy to be online.
I post about: Mostly real life, since there have been a lot of changes in the last couple of years. Media I consume. Sewing and doll projects, too.
I post/check my feed: I'm trying for at least once a week, but gaps do occur. During the week is hard, but weekends/holidays I tend to read/post more.

Anything else you need to know about me: My interests list is pretty skinny because of the personal information it reveals. I read tons of fanfic, watch too much TV, and live alone with my cat. I'm straight cishet, but I lean left, like the coast where I live, and with so many loved ones in the LGBTQA community I'm definitely queer friendly. I'm bad at making friends; this kind of thing always reminds me of attending a party where I am so not the cool kid everyone wants to hang out with. Pinned post in my journal is more informative; friend me and I will friend you back so you can check things out. De-friending amnesty, always, if it's just not your thing.

I especially like people who are queer-friendly without being queer themselves, and wish there were more of them. And am also sensitive about who gets what information about me, and have been for a long time.
