2020 Friending Meme

This helped me a lot in early 2017 when Trump had just been elected, and I am hoping we can get the same feeling going again, after the UK election was such a shock.
Connections are important when it feels like the world is getting darker. Fandom is a huge and strong network of people. We don't always get along, but we're stronger together.
Make new friends, reconnect with those who have drifted, enlarge your circle, and know you are not alone.
To play, cut and paste this text into a comment, fill out the details and tell us about yourself. Then go find new people to add.
If you don't have a Dreamwidth account, you can sign up for one here.
If you're new to Dreamwidth and you've left OpenID comments on DW before, you can link your IDs here: How can I claim my OpenID account with my Dreamwidth account?
Play nice.
And feel free to promote wherever you like with this handy box of linkage:
ETA on Sat morning AEST: This text box was functionally busted a few hours ago, so if you grabbed the code then, you might have an image with no link. It's fixed now, with all new alt text for screen readers. If your promo link is just an image, please replace the code with what's in the box now. Thanks for all the posts, btw! Giraffes popping up everywhere.

Pronouns: xe/xyr/xyrs/xyrself. Singular they is fine if someone's gender should be irrelevant to the context. As for the missing "preferred", that suggests to me that other pronouns are in some sense OK. Which they are not so much, and the binary ones (she, he) misgender me -- which is not at all OK.
Other platforms (tumblr, twitter, etc): None of the popular ones, which seem to me to be corrosive time sinks. I hang out on the LGBT slack and the nonbinary-support and filkhaven Discords. I'm over on Ravelry, too. All as ngmoonmoth.
Active/primary interests or fandoms: Reasonably active in science fiction fandom. Active filker; I write and perform. Frequently seen knitting in public.
If you've seen me around, it's probably because: You've read a post I've commented on. Or you're checking out
I post about: Occasional creative works. Some opinions I want to say more about than would fit in the comment thread they sprang from. Meme responses. Other than that, not very much.
I post/check my feed: Post once or twice a month. Frequent commenter. I normally keep on top of my feed at least daily, unless I'm traveling or stepping away from electronics for a break.
I want to find people that post about: I'm not topic-oriented. Any post that reveals something about the poster is interesting to me.
I am most interested in interacting with people on: Anywhere I hang out is fine.
My blog is: Generally public. Getting interested enough in writing about being Out In Public would be private/behind a filter.
Anything else you need to know about me: There's a string of posts tagged "self-knowledge" that I did earlier this year. Take a look there, if you like. As for fandoms I'm motivated enough to create or seek out fanworks for, I'd say the only generally known one I'm into enough for that is Charles Stross' Laundry Files series. But I've also posted some fanworks in a few of

Thank you. That's a good chunk of my motivation for doing it. That and sharing stuff I think is too good to keep just to myself.
