2020 Friending Meme

This helped me a lot in early 2017 when Trump had just been elected, and I am hoping we can get the same feeling going again, after the UK election was such a shock.
Connections are important when it feels like the world is getting darker. Fandom is a huge and strong network of people. We don't always get along, but we're stronger together.
Make new friends, reconnect with those who have drifted, enlarge your circle, and know you are not alone.
To play, cut and paste this text into a comment, fill out the details and tell us about yourself. Then go find new people to add.
If you don't have a Dreamwidth account, you can sign up for one here.
If you're new to Dreamwidth and you've left OpenID comments on DW before, you can link your IDs here: How can I claim my OpenID account with my Dreamwidth account?
Play nice.
And feel free to promote wherever you like with this handy box of linkage:
ETA on Sat morning AEST: This text box was functionally busted a few hours ago, so if you grabbed the code then, you might have an image with no link. It's fixed now, with all new alt text for screen readers. If your promo link is just an image, please replace the code with what's in the box now. Thanks for all the posts, btw! Giraffes popping up everywhere.

Preferred pronouns: She/her
Other platforms (tumblr, twitter, etc): Mastodon — hafnia@wandering.shop
Active/primary interests or fandoms: I'm not really into fandom anymore. I talk occasionally about what I'm reading, but usually it's nothing popular. Primary interests are writing, cooking, and what I do for work (materials science/startup stuff), as well as occasional stuff about the D&D campaign I play with friends of mine on the weekends.
If you've seen me around, it's probably because: You've run across me on Mastodon, or we have friends in common.
I post about: Real Life, mostly. What I'm up to, what I'm reading, what I've done for work, and what my partner and I get up to.
I post/check my feed: I post roughly weekly, sometimes more frequently, sometimes less. I read my feed every day and comment if I feel like I have something to say (not super-common, but anxiety does that to you).
I want to find people that post about: Oh gosh, post about what makes you happy. If it's mostly fandom, I'm probably not going to comment, because I'm not in any fandoms anymore, but I love reading about people's actual lives -- not what gets sanitized for Facebook/Instagram (neither of which I have anymore), but, like, what's actually real. What's appealed to me about DW/LJ in the past has been that sense of honesty — that we're not cleaning up our lives for an audience or presenting a curated "best version" of ourselves, the way that other social media sites fall prey to.
I am most interested in interacting with people on: Dreamwidth, though adding me on Mastodon is okay too. :)
My blog is: A mix of public and private. Stuff that could be used to piece together where I work, etc, is friends-locked.
Anything else you need to know about me: I'm queer/partnered/monogamous, Chicana, a PhD chemist and incapable of spelling most stuff correctly without spellcheck. I'm not white and I do talk about race on occasion, so if that's a dealbreaker, okay. I believe very strongly in respecting and accepting other people's identities, and I will always use your preferred pronouns so long as I know what they are. Nice to meet you!

I think you're mistaken - at any rate I didn't list you in my circle. I just did though.
