The current run of classic Dr Who finishes up tonight on the ABC, with the last two episodes of "Survival", the final Sylvester McCoy story.

In terms of online fandom, I'm just getting to know where the Whovians are.
I keep an eye on [livejournal.com profile] dwcanon_fodder and [livejournal.com profile] who_daily

As far as tracking fanfic that isn't all Nine/Rose, I've also been using links found on [livejournal.com profile] taraljc's very useful Whovian Primer

I packed all my Doctor Who novels away before the new series even existed, and I'm tempted to get them out to read again. The book that is most often referred to is "Lungbarrow" by Marc Platt. It's out of print, and second hand copies on Amazon start at around US$60, so it was great to find that the BBC has an online version, with commentary by the author.
Lungbarrow

I've never read a book online, and I don't have good concentration for it, but I'm going to give it a go. It seems to be (from what fans say) a definitive origin story. I love an origin story.

Actually, the BBC site is pretty useful, especially with episode reviews of the classic series. Not spoilerific, as far as I can tell.
