I've inhaled the first season. It's unlike me to watch more than one episode of anything at once. I love it, I need more. I'm exhibiting House-seeking behaviour.

I have to admit that a large part of my love is wish fulfillment. I'm not a doctor, but in the pharmacy I do have to deal with my fair share of snot and stupid questions, so each time House dishes it to a stupid clinic patient, it's very satisfying, in that shocking, I would-never-do that (but I would totally love to) way.

The medicine is interesting, and it's fun to shout out stuff like "Do an INR!" as the case develops. It can get a bit "disease of the week", but I don't see a way of avoiding that in a medical drama, and it's never really bothered me in any case. I like the disease of the week. After an episode, [livejournal.com profile] lilacsigil and I go to Polite Dissent to read reviews and medical analysis of the episodes.

I really enjoyed the portrayal of hospital power-play, and the force that the drug companies hold over the caregivers. Vogler gave me the heeby-jeebies, although he's an exaggeration, he makes me think of the US drug companies leaning on our Australian health care system. (We have a fairly good one, and they hate it, mostly because it's bad for the bottom line.)
