As a fellow old person... I remember being incredibly thankful that we had electric hot water back then. The number of people who couldn't have a hot shower/bath for weeks... eurgh.

(I haven't owned a jaffle iron since I moved out of my parents' house. And I don't have a fireplace or a gas stove, so it'd have to be an electric jaffle iron if I did, and that's Not The Same. This didn't feel like such a loss until right this moment.)

We have had the mail-ordered Girl Scout cookies and it was wonderful! You have to order at least 4 boxes but that's hardly a problem. :P

I wasn't thrilled at them being STUCK IN WWII ALONE FOREVER (a way to write them off without killing them off? I guess? altho I thought "Power of Three" kind of left that open. Can't they just have fun jaunts once in a while without it being life-threatening/the end of the world?). But I didn't expect it to be so moving to see him talking about how they survived the war, and were going to pick up their son, and he had the only working iPhone -- that kid is going to hear such stories. And Darvill is such a neat actor -- that PAUSE after he said it was terrible but they pulled through (paraphrasing) said everything about the parallels to this present day, without actually saying a word.
