st_aurafina: (NaNo)

So far, NaNo-wise, I've learned that my most common typo this year is going to be "vampie", or inexplicably, "wampire". (Somehow my subconscious has developed a faux-Transylvanian accent, wtf.)

I spent the weekend planning for the first of November, and the all-important task of making graphics for [livejournal.com profile] bearbrass. I've been researching the early days of Melbourne, and it seem to me that Melbourne was basically a bowl of mud filled with convicts and bullocks until about 1850. I can't really move my vampires there until they have basements. It takes a certain level of civilisation beyond wattle and daub huts to support a vampire lifestyle.

Can anyone recommend me a good online thesaurus? I used to use thesaurus.com, but it's gone whacko. I know Bartleby.com has several versions of Roget's up, but it's clunky and fiddly to access. Curse you, thesaurus.com. You big sell-out.

On a brighter note, I cannot say how awesome Chuck is for breaking into Atari's offices. OMG. Last night's episode was one of my favourites of the series.

And in other news, that possible Doctor Who casting spoiler everyone's going to be talking about is just brilliant! Oh, I hope it's true. I couldn't be happier about Paterson Joseph as Eleven. No, I could be happier, but only if Eleven was Helen Mirren. And I don't think I could be that lucky.

I don't know about others, but I get really excited about a new Doctor. I want to know all about them, I can't wait to see the difference they draw between new and old, I love the settling-in period, I love that moment when you realise that this new face really is the Doctor, and then you get to wallow in nostalgia for the previous Doctor.

And the comics store has sent us our copy of the Middleman TPB! Very exciting stuff. There may have been some excited dancing in the dispensary. *is embarrassed*
