I'm writing a Declan/Watson prompt for the Sanctuary kink meme. If you're Declan, and you're sleeping with this guy who is also your boss, you'd still call him James, wouldn't you? At least in bed? It feels weird, somehow. But I can't get my brain around people using surnames in bed, except in very specific situations. There was a lot of it in X-Files, back in the day. You're not 'Mulder' in bed, Mulder. Actually, maybe you are. But you're not 'Scully' in bed, Scully.

Also, the porn seems a long way off at this point. I need my plotty brain to step aside for my porny brain. There's not enough room for the both of them.

This is a stupid post. But I need to post more.

Things are fine, here, btw. lilacsigil is mostly hibernating at the moment, which makes me wonder what will happen when she goes really hypothyroid in a few weeks. I am anxious, but burning the anxiety off with baking. The things I have made in the last week or so! Lemon slice, chocolate fudge, peanut butter cookies, and nutella brownies. And today I made little Turkish bread rolls stuffed with goat's cheese and sprinkled with nigella seeds. Nigella seeds taste awesome on bread, people. I've mostly used them in curries where I didn't think contributed much flavour, but toasted on the top of bread rolls? Amazing.

I need to stop baking soon. Or not. It's midnight, maybe I should get some sleep.

The first week was very weird, and it took us a bit of time to figure out the timing of the damn short acting T3. I think things are settling now, but she's getting more and more tired in the day as her levels drop off.

On the upside, we called the Nuclear Medicine people, and it turns out that she will have a phone in her lead box! Thank goodness.

I had this exact problem in another fandom, where the boss was a character whom virtually no one dared to call by his first name. I solved it, to my satisfaction at least, by lampshading it--I had the boss explicitly invite his boyfriend/secretary to call him by his first name when they were alone together, and by having the secretary find it very weird at first.

I wish I lived quite a lot nearer to you so I could help you deal with all those excess baked goods! They sound yummy, although I'm sure the stress that's leading to the baking isn't fun at all. Sending good thoughts to you and lilacsigil.
