Thank you so much for the massive hand holding/back patting comments last night - I am feeling much less melodramatic and whiny, and had a good writing session last night. The end approacheth! I can see it!

Ooh, speaking of which, it's the apocalypse this weekend. Don't forget to put on clean underwear. (If the apocalypse means I don't get to see the next episode of Doctor Who, I'm NOT putting on clean underwear in protest.)

Hey, if it's the Rapture, I wonder if that service that cares for your pets after the Rapture is having a hiring bender? Hee! I just checked out their website, Eternal Earthbound Pets, and there's a statement:

Notice of Rate Increase: Due to the increased activity associated with the May 21, 2011 Rapture prophesy we have increased our service rates for all new contracts submitted as of 1/13/11.

Atheists, please continue to be droll.

There's an End of the World commentficathon, here. Also [personal profile] petra has a Rapture in Mid-Air commentficathon, for sexy times up in the air: here. Gotta love the way fandom embraces the apocalypse.

So, anyway. Today at work, a woman told me she liked my cardigan and that she wanted to touch it. I didn't really know what to say to her - my first instinct was "FUCK NO, DON'T TOUCH ME!" - which I've an inkling wasn't the most socially adept response. So I let her. Later, discussing it with [personal profile] lilacsigil (which is what I do when social phobia gets in the way of doing my job properly) and we practiced a few possible responses. Best one: "No, thank you." Which is polite, tells her that she's doing something I'm uncomfortable, and puts her in a position where asking for more is rude. *files it away*

After moments like this - and there have been many over the last couple of days - I like to read the unfilled prompts at the Criminal Minds Kink Meme. (Not because I'm mocking them - I love them deeply. I love that fandom wants to see these things, and that there's a place to ask for it.) Today I found this:

Morgan/Reid. Reid as a male mermaid please. Of course, Morgan has to find out

Discussion:

[personal profile] lilacsigil: It would work better if Morgan were the mermaid.
Me: merMAN! merMAN!
[personal profile] lilacsigil: Reid could be the woobie marine biologist who befriends him.
Me: Morgan wouldn't just be a mermaid, though. He'd be half man, half orca.
[personal profile] lilacsigil: He could call himself Morca.
Me: His powers of echolocation!
[personal profile] lilacsigil: He'll Morganate a boat.
Me (at almost the same time): We're going to need a bigger boat.

Now, I will have pleasant dreams, thinking of Doctor Spencer Reid riding the waves on the back of a beautiful man-orca. Yeah, I have no idea what brought down the apocalypse. No idea at all.
