brains_in_a_jar X-Men fic? It's an AU set in Nebraska in 1951, with Logan as a retired fighter plane, and Scott as a war-time orphan. It's one of those incredible journey things, a boy and his plane story.
It's gen, and it's around 5,000 words. There are canon references, but they're not necessary to follow the fic (I hope). There's a lot of plane jargon (thanks wiki!) and some rudimentary German (thanks Babelfish!), so any expertise in either fields would be awesome.
