I'm trying very hard to stay spoiler-free. I'm determined to remain spoiler-free.

Here's a meme, last seen via [livejournal.com profile] aphrodite_mine:

List seven songs you are into right now, no matter what the genre, whether they have words, or even if they're not any good, but they must be songs you're really enjoying now. Post these instructions in your LiveJournal along with your seven songs.

Warm Whispers//Missy Higgins
From her new album, sweet and wistful.
Into the dawn they carry me through,
And I'm weeping warm honey and milk,
That you stay surrounding me, surrounding me

Where I Stood//Missy Higgins
'Cos she will love you more than I could,
She who dares to stand where I stood

Don't Point, Don't Scare it//Butterfly Boucher
I never got Butterfly Boucher - I loved her voice, but didn't really like the songs she sang. On a second listen through her album, I found that her voice really suits ballads, and not the kind of folk-rock singles she put out. If there's a beat, she sounds awkward, but if she can just muse along, her wandering, breathy voice is really lovely.
We creep along the lanes,
We sneak through seven gates,
We pass a flock of birds
Who didn't flinch a feather

I've had this one on my writing playlist, mostly for my [livejournal.com profile] hp_summergen pinch hit:
Bell, Book and Candle//Eddi Reader
You're everything that I've become, every word I say
I need a bell, book and candle to keep your ghost away

Ariana//Paul Schwartz
I got this while trifling with The Black Donnellys; they used it in the soundtrack of the first episode, one of those cliched scenes where someone is brutally murdered while ethereal music is played. It's good writing music though - all dreamy soprano over drums, with sounds of the ocean fading in and out.

Umbrella//Scott Simons
A cover of the Rihanna song - and a tonic for the constant airplay of the original. I am such a sucker for whimsical semi-ironic covers of manufactured mega-hits, and this is a good one.

Clubbed to Death (Kurayamino Variation)//Rob Dougan
One of my favourite writing tracks because (a) it's about eight minutes long which is a good stretch of concentration for me, and (b) there's lovely piano in it. It had to go on Yousendit, because it exceeded my free Boxnet upload. Huh.
