Riding the mood roller-coaster
Feb. 28th, 2008 12:39 pmI am unaccountably cheerful. I would be suspicious about this, but I can't be, because I'm too cheerful. *is confused*
My order from Lush arrived, so I am surrounded by smelly soaps and lip balms and massage bars (which make the best solid body lotions, though I'm sure they're great for massages too.) The iPod keeps playing Eurovision tracks, which reminds me that there's only TWO MONTHS until Euro-madness starts again. I made Cauliflower Dal last week, and now I have the most delicious lunches in the world. I've started writing those memes that I really want to write, which means I get to dabble in about million fandoms. I'm a tiny bit excited about maybe possibly finishing and editing last year's NaNo.
*phew* This cheerful thing is a bit exhausting, actually.
More good things out there in the world:
Eliza Dushku on Go Fug Yourself. *giggles* She's so awesome. (I suck at fashion!)
A new chapter of Bayou, here at Zuda. Bayou is the only one of Zuda's titles that really grabbed me: it's the story of Lee, growing up in the Depression-era Mississippi Delta. The art is amazing, the story is tense and sensitively written, and builds a terrifying mythology. It's beautiful, scary, and I can't wait to read more.
From Boing Boing, a thoughtful article about autism rights, with interesting ideas about communication and classifying intelligence. And an awesome vid by an woman with autism, which she uses to challenge the idea that being autistic means being 'locked in a world of her own'.
lgbtfest is hosted by
penknife and
mireille719, and it's a multi-fandom challenge for fanfic that "that focuses on the experience of being lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender." The prompts post is here. Now, to think up some prompts (always the hardest part for me!).
All good things, there. *blinks dazedly*
