Ack, life is oddly frantic!
- Planted our tomato seeds today, along with some Lebanese cucumbers and some coriander. I planted another thyme plant out in the back garden, where most of our herbs seem to be accumulating. And
lilacsigil bought a bay tree, which she transplanted into a pot to sit down with the veggie beds. Peas and lettuces are growing!
- Finished my baby afghan. I still need to wash it and reblock it, but it's done, and I really like the way the trim came out. I had a lot of yarn left over, so I made a little pixie bonnet, and I've started a pair of booties:
Bonnet, as modeled by
lilacsigil, or as I'm calling her, Knuckleface. (The bonnet pattern is Breezybot Newborn Pixie Hat.

And the booties, or just one booty at the moment. Posh Crochet Baby Booties. Not sure yet what makes them posh, but they are cute so far.

I don't know what I'm making next. Probably something for this baby's older sister, since she's going to be a wee bit surprised with what her mum brings home from hospital.

lilacsigil is practicing with Chewie in his litle walking jacket, and it's killing me with the cute. He intrepidly follows her all around the house, with a little waddle as he gets used to the jacket. He would have had an outside adventure today, but it rained buckets. And buckets.
- Sleepy Hollow's first episode was adorable! Bursting at the seams with all the ideas, and all the plot hooks, and not too proud to laugh at itself.
Headless Horseman: *exchanges his axe for a shotgun*
Me: "Now I have a machine gun, ho ho ho"
Headless Horseman: *exchanges his shotgun for a machine gun*
The leads have mad chemistry, and I adore their banter. The true star of the show is the Headless Horseman's Horse, who pranced and posed and worked the camera even when he was out of focus. He is very fancy!
Orlando Jones is great and mysterious and is he evil? Does he know? I don't know! But I like him!
I lay my money on Clancy Jones being back. I lay my money on Ichabod being one of the horsemen, probably War. Since the population of Sleepy Hollow is the same number of people who ascend during the Rapture, I posit that the apocalypse has already happened. Here end my predictions.
Those were some scary trees though.

final_touches is a bigbang challenge for unfinished bigbangs. I've got two to sign up with: the Sanctuary AU where Imogen lives, and the Valdemar/X-Men: First Class fusion where Charles is a Companion. Haven't signed up for them yet, but I'm thinking about it.

Date: 2013-09-18 12:03 pm (UTC)Did she buy it on eBay?
And will there be a picture of Chewie in his walking jacket at some point?
Have you done any amigurumi? I bet the baby's older sister would like that.

Date: 2013-09-19 11:20 am (UTC)I'm definitely taking a photo - I tried last night, but I didn't want to get too close to him while he's still settling in.
I haven't done any amigurumi, but I bought the pattern for this whale headphone cosy, so I'm going to give it a go. But I've got the yarn for this Hellow Kitty hat that I thought I might give a try.

Date: 2013-09-19 11:25 am (UTC)Let me try again. Did she buy it at Punnings?
The whale headphone cosy is so cute! I have a little plastic capsule for mine, but it's sadly lacking in adorable compared to the whale.

Date: 2013-09-19 11:28 am (UTC)Yes, it's super cute, but I'm a bit nervous about amigurumi because they look like they need a lot of tension, and my stitches are a bit flopulous sometimes.
