We did the (space) monster mash!

I just need to tell you that it's very cold here. I am wearing a scarf and gloves inside. Too cold. Please think of the netballers, out in the rain and the hail. And of my town's fledgling women's football team who are playing tomorrow, which is supposed to be colder. (They are so great. Valiant viking warriors.)
Escitalopram and I are in the honeymoon phase, where everything is rosy and nothing hurts.
Media reviews:
Reverie, episodes 1-3
It's not an awesome show yet but it's got a lot of potential, and also Sarah Shahi. I love the characters and their respective sad histories. I love the world building and the near-future look of the show. I find the case of the week stories to be very dull, and the dialogue dated and stilted to the point that I wonder if the whole show is set in an virtual reality ala Life on Mars. (This would be very cool, by the way...) There's a weird, 80's style to the psychology they're writing about - I feel like I could make a bingo card for all the issue stories they're going to have: the autistic episode, the kink episode, the dementia episode. Last night I said to
lilacsigil that sometimes it feels like it's being written by a Reader's Digest editor. Still, everyone is very pretty, there's an AI, and only one main character who is white. (I think? Just that executive lady?)
Killing Eve
When the show killed a queer character in nearly the scene after we learn that he's queer, I took a break from the show. I always feel duped when that happens, like how could I fall for that again? After all those years? Am I STUPID?? But
lilacsigil nudged me to keep going, and I'm glad I did because, IDK, Villanelle's face. Her stupid hilarious murdery face. And she's murdering people all over the place. And Sandra Oh is a genius. A funny, beautiful, amazing heart-string tugging genius.
Outlander, aka the space cop/viking/Beowulf mashup movie
I've seen maybe twenty minutes of this and it is all I desire: space tech, Jim Caviezel all sweaty and suffering nobly, and ridiculously beautiful horses. It's sad that the thing that breaks my suspension of disbelief is the thoroughbred horses. Vikings are gonna be on ponies, let's be real.
I blacked out my POI Exchange bingo card - I've commented on all of the fics but I'm not game to guess. Comment bingo is a great idea - it made me dive into pairings I don't normally read and try things I would normally hesitate over but actually enjoyed. For example, Numb Too Long is a long fic in second person which is a POV I don't normally grok but it's a really good gen hurt comfort casefic with Shaw and Fusco saving Harold.
Anyway, here'sWonderwall my card:
I upgraded my firefox, because I was worried about security, and because I couldn't make my brain stick with Chrome. So now I have only twelve tabs open. It's very scary. I want my rows back. Please bring the rows back.
