Pointless weekend post

st_aurafinaIt's been unspeakably warm the last few days, and my allergies are going wild already. *dreads spring*

lilacsigil made an orange poppyseed cake. I have coffee, cake and cuddly cats. It doesn't get much better.
I'm thinking about signing up for this multi-fandom Halloween ficathon, which looks really relaxed. I want to get my![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-community.gif)
1602ficathon fic under control, and my xmmficathon story properly birthed before I sign up, but sign-ups don't close until September 12th. lilacsigil says she won't beta a zombie fic (she's still recovering from 28 Days Later), so I'm trying to not think about zombies. It doesn't work - all I'm getting is zombie plot ideas.
We downloaded the Global Frequency pilot and watched it on Thursday night. It was amazing, really beautiful and grungy-looking, reminded me of the Hellblazer covers when Warren Ellis was writing. It was a great adaptation of the GF comic, and Michelle Forbes as Miranda Zero was brain-splittingly amazing. I think I'm in love with Miranda Zero. Also, I can't believe that I could love a show that was even more doomed than Firefly. Firefly had one season and a movie. Global Frequency never even got picked up. *weeps*
So last night, I had a dream about how Emma Frost and Miranda Zero had to escape from zombies, and hide out on a tropical island. Emma was having a shower. My brain is awesome that way.
