My town: like Brigadoon with less whimsy and more dung

Yesterday was gloriously foggy until midday. I love winter so much! My town is shaped like a bowl, and on cold days, the mist hangs around for ever. If I had a dollar for every time someone told me yesterday me how it's beautiful and sunny until they come into town, I'd have six dollars. Or maybe seven. But personally, I really like the fog.

I finally got my au_bigbang posted - what an epic task! I am really proud of it, though, and glad I persevered and got it polished up to the very best that it could be. I learned so much in the writing of that thing - so, so much about pacing. And editing, and rewriting, and show-don't-tell. A while ago, when I was having a big old moan and complain, kindkit said that when it was done, I would have a massive feeling of achievement. And he was right. I do. I'm kind of glowing with it.

Meanwhile, Second Annual Femslash Kink Meme! I don't think that I'm going to tell my psychologist that one of my coping mechanisms for dealing with anxiety this last week has been to trip over there and write some seriously explicit anonymous porn. It's very good stress relief! Um.

Um. Yeah. I don't usually write a lot of porn, though I read plenty. This is kind of new for me (Incidentally, what do you call that thing that closes the Venetian blinds? The flexible whippy rod thing? *blushes*)

It was very foggy up here, too. I was driving 20 minutes past my usual commute each day of the weekend for a biblical studies intensive, and probably 90% of the ridiculous amount of driving I did this week was in fog. Ugh. Fog pretty, but not so much when driving.

Oh, I am sorry for people who have a commute, you have my sympathies. I forget that not everyone lives two streets away from work. (Not that that's necessarily a good thing, either...)
