Ugh, just found our neighbour-up-the-road's dog lying in the middle of the road with his legs akimbo, and thought for sure he'd been run over, so we put the hazard light on and ran out to help him, expecting a bloodbath, and the bastard got up and walked away. AAAAAAH! We put the dog (and his little dog sidekick) in the neighbour-up-the-road's back yard and locked the gate. But did not need that heart-stopping moment. Also, this is not the first misadventure these dogs have had. They're facebook stars, of the "Does anyone know these dogs?" variety. Make your dogs safe, or you don't deserve dogs.

HOLY SHIT OMG WTF THERE'S SO MUCH STUFF WE ONLY HAVE A WEEK THE TENANT MOVES IN AS WE'RE MOVING OUT SO THERE'S NOWHERE TO RUN AWAY TO I DON'T KNOW IF I CAN HANDLE THIS

The cleaners have to come back and clean more - there was just that much dust. But the walls and shelves and windows are good, and I think we can start bringing stuff over from the pantry, the kitchen cupboards, omg help.

There's so much stuff to take to the op shop. There's stuff to take to the tip. There's stuff we're leaving for the Lions. (The Lions Club run a trash and treasure stall in late OCtober.)

- Speaking of Australia (casting spoilers for Arrow) STONE THE FLAMING CROWS MATE, CAPTAIN BOOMERANG IS A DINKY-DI TRUE BLUE AUSSIE COBBER/BAD GUY. THIS IS GOING TO BE GROUSE, MATE.

The accent is going to kill me.

It's going to be Meryl Streep's Lindy Chamberlain all over again, and because it's Arrow, I will probably eat it up with a spoon.





- Tiny caravan you can pull with a bicycle - it's a tiny dwelling made from two water tanks. (Tiny dwellings are my fantasy right now. Moving will do that for you.)


- 23 Plus-sized bloggers to follow on instagram. I don't do instagram, nor do I particularly do fashion, but these women are amaze and gorgeous.


- How To Cook Quinoa Perfectly Every Time On The Stove Or In A Rice Cooker With Photos. I have a rice cooker. I have a packet of quinoa somewhere in the pantry which I'm sure to come across in the next couple of days as I clean out EVERYTHING.


- Something to covet: Eco-friendly rainbow sea glass jewellery. Pretty glass pebbles inna tube! Definitely something that I'd hang around my neck. (My sister said they look like jelly beans, which is not exactly dissuasive.)


- Recycled jeans journal. This is something I could actually make. I think I'd like to give it a go. WHEN WE HAVE MOVED. AND UNPACKED ALL THE CRAFT ROOM.


- The back of the Sleepy Hollow DVD describes Abbie as 'feisty'. This offends me; it's so infantilising, and it's not true at all. Abbie is measured and deliberate and not feisty. (Who the fuck is feisty, really? Apart from ponies.)

...wait. do DC and Marvel BOTH have superheroes called Boomerang? Are there, in fact, any mainstream superheroes from Australia who do not have a boomerang somewhere in their name?

I don't know much about Australia in the Marvelverse. What are we like? I know from Rachel Edidin that Canada is a terrifying, nightmarish dystopia, so I expect we're full of cute cuddly animals who can heal whatever's wrong with you by nuzzling you.

I have a rice cooker, too, a cheap one. Despite her claims to the contrary, I have had no difficulty cooking any variety of rice in it--short grain, long grain, brown, sprouted--it's all good. Steel cut oats turn out great, too. If I ate rice twice a day, I could see spending a small fortune on a rice cooker but not for once or twice a week. I've never tried quinoa in my rice cooker. I don't like the texture.

Yay for Miss Fisher season three. It will probably be at least a year after you see it until we do, but I am so looking forward to that third season.
