This helped me a lot in early 2017 when Trump had just been elected, and I am hoping we can get the same feeling going again, after the UK election was such a shock.

Connections are important when it feels like the world is getting darker. Fandom is a huge and strong network of people. We don't always get along, but we're stronger together.

Make new friends, reconnect with those who have drifted, enlarge your circle, and know you are not alone.

If you've seen me around, it's probably because: I am very old. I was musesfool on LJ from 2002-2017 (I no longer post or check there, but I didn't delete it), I used to run Remix/Redux, I post recs monthly at unfitforsociety, and I still try to post fic regularly.

Anything else you need to know about me: I'm 49 years old and have been in online fandom since Usenet in 1997, so I'm also Fandom Old and I'm very tired. I'm a big shipper of many things, but my OTP of OTP pairings are Steve/Bucky, Sirius/Remus, Han/Leia, Tim/Kon, Max/Alec, Danny/Rusty, Kaz/Inej, Luke/Lorelai, Coach/Mrs Coach - I write and read in a larger variety of fandoms, and I have a preference for bantery friends-to-lovers pairings.

I’m older! I entered the fandom later than you, though – in 2003. I wrote gen and slash, mainly about Remus and Sirius, and I remember enjoying and admiring your fic. And now I’m back, still only in HP, but I really hope we could be friends. My own post is on the second page.
