2020 Friending Meme

This helped me a lot in early 2017 when Trump had just been elected, and I am hoping we can get the same feeling going again, after the UK election was such a shock.
Connections are important when it feels like the world is getting darker. Fandom is a huge and strong network of people. We don't always get along, but we're stronger together.
Make new friends, reconnect with those who have drifted, enlarge your circle, and know you are not alone.
To play, cut and paste this text into a comment, fill out the details and tell us about yourself. Then go find new people to add.
If you don't have a Dreamwidth account, you can sign up for one here.
If you're new to Dreamwidth and you've left OpenID comments on DW before, you can link your IDs here: How can I claim my OpenID account with my Dreamwidth account?
Play nice.
And feel free to promote wherever you like with this handy box of linkage:
ETA on Sat morning AEST: This text box was functionally busted a few hours ago, so if you grabbed the code then, you might have an image with no link. It's fixed now, with all new alt text for screen readers. If your promo link is just an image, please replace the code with what's in the box now. Thanks for all the posts, btw! Giraffes popping up everywhere.

Other platforms:
Active/primary interests or fandoms: Currently, MCU / Marvel comics, and I just recently fell down the rabbit hole of Star Trek: Discovery (Piiiike, omg.) I've also loved Star Wars from the very beginning, but I'm less 'in' that fandom and more just a fan.
If you've seen me around, it's probably because: I've been writing fic in oddball pairings for a really long time, so possibly you've read one of my Clint/Darcy MCU fics, or the Jeff/Jensen Regency AU in SPN RPF, or the Kirk/Pike Big Bang in ST:AOS. Or possibly the one where I sent Hawkeye & family (including Nat & Wanda) to Disney World?
I post about: Combo of real life and fandom, though most of my fannish thoughts tend to work themselves out in the fic I write, so there's not a lot of meta happening in my posts. I read and cook a lot, too, and talk about my (mostly grown) kids.
I post/check my feed: I was doing okay with weekly posts, but then there was some medical chaos this past summer and life still hasn't settled down. I try to read and comment daily, though.
I want to find people that post about: I like to read about whatever people are interested in, especially fandom-wise (how else am I ever going to find my next obsession?) Reading is good, food/baking is good, and given the state of my brain, I'm saving the seat next to me for somebody who's loving Chris Pike. ;) But otherwise, I am pretty much wide open.
I am most interested in interacting with people on: DW. I'm happy to chat in comments on AO3; tumblr is for pretty pictures and tagging same for whatever fic I happen to be writing (like a mood board), but DW is where I really talk.
My blog is: Mostly public except when I'm unable to contain a hissy fit about work.
Anything else you need to know about me: I have been around fandom for a really long time, and I have gotten into so many media properties because of my flist/circle and the squee and fic that flow across it. I love it. I occasionally cosplay with my kids (usually video game characters - a favorite is Maven Blackbriar from Skyrim, b/c then the boys can be thieves and we can wander the con as a group.) There's an open intro post linked in the pinned post of my DW if you want a little more detail, b/c, I am running waaaaaay behind on holiday prep and really have to run (which is so on point, I can't even tell you.) bye! kisses!
