2020 Friending Meme

This helped me a lot in early 2017 when Trump had just been elected, and I am hoping we can get the same feeling going again, after the UK election was such a shock.
Connections are important when it feels like the world is getting darker. Fandom is a huge and strong network of people. We don't always get along, but we're stronger together.
Make new friends, reconnect with those who have drifted, enlarge your circle, and know you are not alone.
To play, cut and paste this text into a comment, fill out the details and tell us about yourself. Then go find new people to add.
If you don't have a Dreamwidth account, you can sign up for one here.
If you're new to Dreamwidth and you've left OpenID comments on DW before, you can link your IDs here: How can I claim my OpenID account with my Dreamwidth account?
Play nice.
And feel free to promote wherever you like with this handy box of linkage:
ETA on Sat morning AEST: This text box was functionally busted a few hours ago, so if you grabbed the code then, you might have an image with no link. It's fixed now, with all new alt text for screen readers. If your promo link is just an image, please replace the code with what's in the box now. Thanks for all the posts, btw! Giraffes popping up everywhere.

Date: 2019-12-22 02:58 pm (UTC)Preferred pronouns: She/her
Other platforms (tumblr, twitter, etc): Twitter (
Active/primary interests or fandoms: SO MANY. Right now, I'm squeeing the most about Riverdale, My Chemical Romance, and the Black Veil Brides, and as soon as I watch "Rise of Skywalker" I'll probably have some ~Feelings about it. So, music (primarily emo, metal, and goth rock), and a bunch of pop culture geek stuff included, but not limited to, the MCU, Doctor Who, She-Ra and the Princesses of Power, Harry Potter, Umbrella Academy, and anything with vampires. Also, horror movies.
If you've seen me around, it's probably because: I dunno, it depends on the platform. Do people see me around? I do get comments on my fanfiction on occasion. The one I get the most feedback on is a Doctor Who fic called 'The Constant Moon' so maybe that?
I post about: Fandom stuff, real life sometimes, LGBTQ+ related stuff (is bi), and loads of meta commentary. LOADS of meta commentary.
I post/check my feed: When the squee is turned all the way up, I'll post three or four times a week. When it's not, it's more like half that. I check my feed every day.
I want to find people that post about: Hoping to meet some Riverdale fans and MCR newbies, but honestly anyone who's groovy and loves to dissect fandom on a deep level and talk symbolism and whatnot.
I am most interested in interacting with people on: DW.
My blog is: Selectively public. I have a filter for personal stuff, like family drama, mental health (I talk about suicidal ideation on occasion, but I filter those always), or if I need to rant about work. But most of the fandom meta is public.
Anything else you need to know about me: I also draw things! I did Inktober for the first time this year! Here's a drawing of my dog!

Date: 2019-12-22 08:25 pm (UTC)Sure! I'm fine with any type of MCR fan, really--the "newbie" thing is mainly bc I keep running across people who weren't around for the first wave of fandom, and I'd love to hear their perspective. I'll add you when I get home from work!

Date: 2019-12-23 11:17 pm (UTC)Hello! Please don't feel like you're not "interesting enough" for me, or for anyone for that matter. HP is one of my many fandoms, and I'd be happy to add you! See you around. :)
