Looking on the bright side
Jun. 14th, 2007 03:15 pmSo the zombies came and the zombies went, and out here in the sticks, nobody really noticed. Sure, there were minor skirmishes, but nothing that couldn't be taken care of with a shotgun and a tractor. Living out in the mud and the manure has downsides, but from a post-apocalyptic point of view, primary-producing farmers are really handy. Expert fencers are building a barricade around the town. Local youth are spotlighting in organised patrols. I'm distilling herbal medicines. The CWA is making sandwiches. Our community priorities are: beer, fuel, broadband.
I think, eventually, we'll realise we never really needed the cities at all.
