I feel like I'm getting back to a normal schedule - after the horror of the weekend's terrifying news and then on Tuesday a dental appointment that was... rigorous, I have been feeling very bruised. Today I do at least feel on level ground again. The fires are still burning, but the body count has stopped rising for now (though people are still unaccounted for), and stories of great generosity and courage are starting to appear next to the stories of loss. (And thank you, everyone who commented on my last post - I would hug you all if I could reach my arms around all the way.)
From @FiBendal via @KevinRuddPM: a minute of Tweet-silence has been suggested at 4pm on Friday Australian EST. That would be 5am GMT, and midnight on the East Coast of the US.
On a more mundane level, my new filling needs to be ground down - it's so hard to tell in the dentist's chair when your face is numb and you just want to get the hell out of the surgery, but now I realise that my teeth don't actually meet except where the tooth was filled. But I go back next Tuesday for more fun times, and hopefully the dentist will file it down then.
Enough moping. LOOK AT OUR AWESOME ZOE DOLL! OMG!
She's a customised Rainbow Brite doll, and she's made by someone very dear on my flist, who has nifty skills and awesome talent. (With her permission, I can tell you Zoe was made by
tartanshell! This is her Etsy! Go and check out her purses and skirts made with fantastic character prints! And there's an Edward doll, too!)
But look at her! Her leather vest! Her belt and thigh holster! Her I-am-calm-and-beautiful-but-cross-me-and-I-will-mess-you-up expression! *squees*

The cats are fascinated by her, especially her yarn hair. (Can they smell other cats, maybe?) Baggins stalked her from the moment we unwrapped her. (She's safely in a cabinet behind a glass door now, not that she couldn't mess up a little bitty cat if she wanted to.)

Chewie very much appreciated the careful packaging. (He's still playing with the tissue paper)

Dollhouse starts on Friday. I'm excited, but a little dubious. It could be so good! But there could be so much fail. So very much fail. But so much potential (and definitely so much pretty!) that I'm going to at least give the pilot a chance. Even though it's guaranteed to be axed the moment I get attached.
I must do my sign-up for
tardis_gen! Writing requests is hard! . But I don't want to miss out like I did for
springtime_gen. I must stop dithering.
Sometime last year there was a meme going around - six degrees of separation? Remember that? I owed a bunch of them. I may be slow, but I'm getting there with them. I have one to post, and one to edit.
