Huh. Mum got the flu shot and bruised up like someone had hit her. It was a remarkable reaction given she's got it for years and never had much of a reaction before. I'm getting mine next week, so heres hoping I avoid that bruising.

I would LOVE to!

1. the character I least understand
You know what I don't understand? I don't understand Rhea killing her husband, when surely the Daxam gene pool is kinda tiny these days. I don't understand that at all. Maybe she has his sperm banked somewhere? Maybe that's a thing Daxomites do? (Kara's all like, "What's this in the freezer, Mon-El?" And Mon-El is like, "Under the chicken fingers? Oh, just my future progeny."

2. interactions I enjoyed the most
It's a tight call (I nearly, nearly said Alex and Maggie getting it so wrong then getting it so right) but I love Alex and Kara. Sisters forever! I love how much they'll do to protect each other, and that it hasn't always been easy or perfect for them, but now as adults, it's so strong.

3. the character who scares me the most
I want to cheat and say Mxyzptlk but honestly? My secret fear is that one of Maggie or Alex are going to get fridged, and the day that happens, I will walk away from this show because I can't take that shit anymore.

4. the character who is mostly like me
I am probably most like Winn. Permanent foot in mouth, inappropriate crushes, gets his shit together and is actually really, really competent in the right environment.

Oh god, I mean. I haven't skipped on a single question on any of these memes, but with Supergirl, I've just got too many to choose from. Can we just celebrate all the beautiful women in this show? Kara, Alex, Lena, Maggie. Cat Grant. Lucie, Alora and Astra. Omg, Roulette! I still want to write some kind of prep school AU with Roulette and Lena. I guess it's not an AU if they actually did go to school together? (In my head, it kind of looks like the school on Hex.)

I did go back to The 100 eventually, because although they killed Lexa it is still a show about young women in leadership positions -- Clarke, Raven, Octavia; some of the grounders this season -- and also Bellamy (whom I like, deep dark flaws and all). Plus, I don't think even someone as dense as JRothenberg would kill a queer woman again after the very public backlash.

Supergirl is not a woke show at the best of times, though, and there is too much Mon-El and too much patriarchic DEO stuff going on. If they fridge Maggie or Alex, I too am out for good.

It'll never happen; the character specs from DC must look like the recent Spiderman specs that surfaced. I think once we have sorted out the pre-apocalyptic minority president and his merry bunch of neofascists, fandom should really put some pressure on where the power is: in contractually locked-in heterosexuality clauses.

I liked the song (again)! I don't watch many of our reality TV shows, but I'm fairly sure they don't give that kind of prominence to the judges during the performance, just show theire faces (expressions variably easy/hard to interpret), although, as I said, I don't watch them so I may be wrong. But I was getting terribly ansty and British while watching. (it's so rude to take away attention from the singer and not sit there and listen politely! why are they doing that, please stop! /o\ LOL.)

Hee, I haven't watched The Voice, but usually in these things, the judges don't sit in front of the performers like that, but off to the side, so they're not as prominent. THey react, they make faces and stuff and the camera will show that, but not like above, where the focus seems to be them, rather than the act. (Or at least, in the ones I've seen, perhaps they do in The Voice! I can't say I've even stumbled over that one in passing, not for certain.)

Instead of no homo we got a very homo type show. (And even my leaning more on the conservative side mama is fully on team Root/Shaw).
I've not looked into Caviezel's politics really, but I'm guessing he's an uber conservative because I know he's really religious? (though I do know people personally who have managed to be really religious and really liberal and I'm somewhat religious and politically moderate...though the current administration is making me swing more liberal, but anyways).
I wouldn't say the show is very conservative, though religious themes do play in a bit in later seasons. Like the Machine is "God" and Root is like God's prophet (speaking for her). And there's the fact the named the "bad machine" Samaritan, because people think "Good Samaritan," but in the Bible for the most part Samaritans weren't presented as being good people, which is why the "good Samaritan" was worth noting.
Of course, I was an English major and may totally be reading into this too deep. lol

Reese is a very handsome crab indeed.

He is uber conservative and extremely pro-life, but as far as I know, he's never said anything hideously homophobic. I could be wrong - there's no way I can research this, and I don't really want to, but I do have this flinch response when I learn that someone has conservative leanings. In this case I'm glad not to know, to be honest, as long he kept his politics out of the role. Because Reese wouldn't give a damn who loved who and what people did with their lives in private.

The show has definite religious themes, but I do love that. All that cathedral imagery in the subway station, all the morality questions. Love it.
